                             Special Features: Nice Playground

Last weekend, I decided to focus on another St. Louis city park. I chose Berra Park. It is located in the Hill area of St. Louis. When I arrived, despite the gloomy weather, it was well populated with families relaxing, kids playing soccer, and people walking their dogs.

The first thing that caught my attention was the statue dedicated to Louis G. Midge Berra. Apparently the park was named in 1965 after “Midge,” a long running political force in the area.

Then I came to the fountain that was turned off for the winter, of course, but looks like it will be great fun when the sun starts shining again. There was also a nice pavilion with picnic tables great for relaxing.

And another feature nice for families is the playground. It is large and has nice terrain for play.

There are also soccer fields, a softball field, and a volleyball court.

The park has no paths for running but it is a nice neighborhood park that is clearly well loved and is great for a chill day with family and friends or a game of neighborhood ball.

Have you been to Berra Park? What did you think? Let me know in the comments below!
